WE DID IT! We are off on our new life adventure! You can plan and talk about doing this for a really long time and you can only guess what kind of emotions you will have. Well, now I know. There are SO many thoughts and feelings flying around in this mind and body right now.
Anyone else out there who can’t sleep the night before something you are excited about, like vacation? I figured I would have a restless night and I was right.
As a Mama
The Mama in me started missing the kids before my head hit the pillow. I know I will be able to see and talk to them with our cell phones but I love to be around them. I love to hug them. It is that interaction I will miss most. So I will choose to focus on the positive and thank the Good Lord for technology.
Organization
The organizer in me wondered if I placed things where they won’t be slip sliding around and if I distributed the weight evenly so the camper pulls well. (According to my handsome driver…a.k.a. my hubby…he can barely tell it’s behind the truck. Points for me!) I also wondered if I had things organized in easy to get to spots based on frequency of use. Ah-hem! This is a no judgement zone. This is just how this girl’s brain works and I am grateful for the gift of organization.
The budget
Then there is the budgeter in me. (She’s best friends with the organizer in me. 😊 ) A budget isn’t workable unless it’s organized. Can I get an AMEN? I was thinking about all the new categories I would need and what forms I could create to keep track of all of our expenses. Because I’m starting a brand-new budget and will be keeping track of every penny spent in order to create a budget that works for full time RV life. (Pray for me! Getting receipts in today’s world can be a challenge!) I am grateful Mom taught me excellent budgeting skills. Let’s all give a virtual high five to my mama!
Income on the road
Some of you know I have been wanting to start my own online business for a very long time. Years. It actually took me less time to go full time RV living than it has to start that business. Imposter syndrome, anyone? That’s a whole other story we can chat about later. I have been praying for God inspired ideas and don’t you know, the night before we were set to leave, God decided to unload ideas into my mind. Let me tell ya, when that happens, you don’t sleep. You get yourself a notepad and a pen and you take notes. Am I right?
My prayers and cell phone are keeping my emotions in check and I am thankful for all the new experiences we will have. I am enjoying sending out postcards to keep in touch as well. I know, it’s a bit old fashioned but I’ve always had an old soul so it suits me perfectly. Send me your address if you’d like one!
When you think of living full time traveling around the country in a RV what thoughts come to mind? What questions do you have? What would you like to see or know about this life? Leave a comment below. I’d love to hear from you!!
I plan on posting weekly but until we get our internet connections all set up I will post as often as I can.
Until next time, much love to you all,
Kim

I’m going to love reading your blog because you are living my dream ( well one of them anyway) so this will give me an opportunity to see first hand what RV living is all about. Please share the good- the bad and the ugly. Be safe in your travels and Godspeed.

Well, welcome to the good, bad and ugly! I do plan on writing about all of the above for others like you who dream about doing this too. I’m so glad you’ll be reading as I write. Makes it worth writing. ❤

You never cease to make me smile! I love your humor! We’ve done a lot of putt putting on purpose! I haven’t been a journal person (I’ve tried but rarely followed through) however, I’ve been writing it all out every day. *proud moment 😁
